Parlec, Inc. Appoints Doug Woods as President

Doug WoodsMichael Nuccitelli

Fairport, NY – Parlec, a worldwide leader in tooling, workholding, and presetting solutions, is pleased to announce the appointment of Doug Woods to the position of President of Parlec, Inc.

Woods, previously the President of Parlec International, will now be responsible for the oversight of Parlec’s sales, engineering, manufacturing and operations worldwide, as well as maintaining many of his duties in the UK and China offices.

Seeing a growing need for a dedicated leadership role, Michael Nuccitelli, former President and CEO of Parlec, Inc., made the decision to proceed exclusively as CEO. Nuccitelli plans to adjust his role by taking a more strategic approach to the research and development of new products and markets. He will also focus on enhancing global alliances and partnerships and the further expansion of Parlec’s global operations, including a facility in India by 2009. Nuccitelli will be personally managing many new product launches in 2008, including Parlec’s new precision boring system, shrinkset presetter, workholding vise and high-speed tooling products.

“By dividing the strategic and forward thinking responsibilities from the day-to-day operations of the business, we can ensure that Parlec will continue to experience double-digit growth rates, while maintaining its reputation for world-class products, service and support,” said Woods.

“Woods has done an exemplary job at Parlec. We are extremely fortunate to have him on board,” said Nuccitelli. “His ability to think strategically, coupled with his leadership abilities, makes him a key component in reaching our goal of becoming the number one choice in machine tool accessories worldwide.”

Since joining Parlec approximately two years ago as President of Parlec International, Woods played a critical in role in growing international sales, Europe by 20% and China by 97%. His accomplishments also include, adding 4 new regional sales offices in China, broadening the operations and management team to support planned future growth, and developing 6 new European distributors and a strategic partnering arrangement with Mahr for technology sharing and presetter sales and support.

“I am very excited to take on this role,” said Woods. “The company holds tremendous promise, and to be an integral part of developing and driving growth is where I want to be. One of our ‘strong suits’ is our strength in manufacturing and that is something I am passionate about. We have some exciting plans to further enhance our operations with state-of-the-art technologies and innovative processes.”

Previously CEO of Liberty Precision Industries, Woods was responsible for helping the company grow from a $7 million tool & die company to a $40 million internationally recognized manufacturing company involved in the design and manufacture of flexible machining systems.

A graduate of Syracuse University with a bachelors degree in business, Woods is the past chairman of the board of the Association for Manufacturing Technology (AMT). He is also active in the National Tooling & Machining Association where he has chaired the Global Marketing Committee, and he is the past president of the Rochester Chapter of the NTMA.
